Lightbulb New Clutch, What Should I do? Your Input Welcomed!

Car Specs.
2002 SVT Focus - 90,012 Miles
JRSC and BBK - FC TB - RT Cat - soon 2.5" Borla
Safe assumption of 220whp and 175wtq.

Well I got to drive a couple SVT Foci that came onto the lot and got the awakening . My clutch releases way too high compared to the other SVTs. At 90,000 miles now, I have owned the car since it only had 48,000 miles 2.5 years ago, I realize this is the near end of the clutch. I have only been on boost for the past 10,000 miles. It is not slipping, just my guess getting to the point where there is nothing left and will eventually start soon.

So my question for yall is what should I go with. I have done some searching. But obviously its been back and forth between brands. For this I will start a poll. I am assuming I should go Stage 2 and with the fidanza 12 pound flywheel. I am guessing no one would recommend using the TSB clutch just to save some money for now.

So here are the lists.
Clutch TSB Parts
Clutchmasters Stage 2
Spec Stage 2
Spec Stage 2+
Exedy Stage 2

These things are so freaking expensive and combining them with a flywheel makes parts anywhere between 699-899. Thats before the cost of labor to install . I do not have much money to spare as it is and when its time to purchase, I can only do this once. I just hope to God I do not have any freak part failures! I would like to get at least 50,000 miles out of my next clutch. Since I did not buy my car new, I can only assume that my car received a new clutch before I purchased it. But the Oasis report never mentioned a TSB so I could have gotten 90,000 miles out of the original clutch in theory. I have been driving manual trannies since I first received my liscense, I whole 8 years ago lol. Wow I am old. [bootyshak

So my fellow Foci freaks, what do yall recommend!

Hot damn son. Are cars are near twins!! I'm 178 miles away from 90K miles and also have a JRSC+BBK with magnaflow exhaust! As far as clutches go, I would recommend a Spec stage 2. I had one before the tranny went poop and it had 30K miles on it, all boosted and still grabbed like all hell. When we pulled the tranny we found the clutch actually had plenty of life left on it still but I had already bought a new Spec stg1 to replace it. It works perfectly fine to if you are interested in saving a few bucks. I love my Fidanza 12lb flywheel, despite the chatter it def def helps, really livins up the engine. Just don't thrash on it and I'm sure you still have alittle life left in the original clutch till funds are better.

Im a spec fan, but keep in mind with any Kevlar disc you will need to properly wear in the clutch, ifnot, might only last you 5k at best!

Well after punching some numbers....I am thinking about just getting a TSB clutch for now. It should last for a good while and not kill me. Parts and install should be around 700 through our tranny guys at the dealership. This way it will last till the finance is up and then i can buy a new car and turn this into a track car or weekend rider.

^^^My "TSB Clutch" has lasted through 2 AutoCross seasons, and 38,000 miles now.
Yes...I'm just a hair shy of 50,000 miles now.

Then again...I'm not boosted as you are.

Thats the only thing I am worried about, boost! But it should get me a couple years worth of life. I drive hard but I do not really do any hard shifting. I wait till I am safely in gear before punishing the gas pedal. I know boost and torque when in gear wrecks havock on clutches too. I just hope that the known durability of the TSB clutch will hold up for at least 2 years or 40,000 miles with some boost.

Doing my prices/parts search now.

My TSBd clutch is holding up well aswell. About 50k so far... But I have seen TSBd clutches detonate with boost aswell. Id atleast get a non-slappy dual stage flywheel in there first.
Where at in SJ are you from?

Eh, not liking the new throttle body. Too stiff for my liking. Doesnt allow the best "feel".

$596 and change for the TSB Clutch, Pressure plate, Flywheel, forget what the thing is called for the throwout bearing, bolts, and dows.

I just got a quote of $200 from our tranny guy to do the component swap!
