Testing new SVTs

Since my last svt was unfairly taken from me, I've been looking for another one to replace it. I found an 04 Yellow one with 40k miles or so and I test-drove it yesterday after work.

Anyways, my last svt was boughten used as well, and modified a bit, so I can't really compare it fully to this (stock). When I was driving this one, however, I noticed that the car was bogging badly in first gear. I had a mechanic check it out and it passed his inspection with nothing wrong with it.

So I'm asking here.. is this normal? It wasn't HORRIBLE, but it was as if I was starting in 2nd or 3rd gear. It was bad enough that I stalled it out twice (and I've been driving a manual for years) because I thought I was in 3rd gear instead of 1st and the RPMs dipped so low that it just died.

Yes, normal. No torque = bogging in first unless you flog it.

Thats normal. You just need to get a tune and you'll be all set. It's not due to lack of torque. It's due to an inferior factory tune. Buy the car then buy a tune from Tom.

...the "bad" tune results in a lack of torque

The bad tune retards the timing. I guess in a round about way you could blame it on torque ,but it's not really due to a lack of torque. The ponit is it's an easy fix.

Heh ok thanks guys, sounds like an easy fix. Still trying to decide between the SVT and an 04 Ion redline. The redline is definitely a surpriser when you step on the gas. And I like the easiness of gaining power on it.

Not to say your retarded but I remember the first day I had mine, I would accidentally shift to 3rd instead of 1st, It would bog and people where honking at me like maniacs(LOL). I came up with plenty of excuses that day, cause my GF was with me and would give me that WTF look. But turns out I was just being a tard.
