Heat Shield!!!

So guys a while back my heatshield rattle'd and i got it bolted back on thru the dealer , well it snow'd like 15+ inches here in wi and my heatshield decided to rip off the other day and now i have no heat shield.... sooo is this going to cause any problems or should i just leave it off ?

sounds like its time for an off-road pipe.

im sure your talking about the cat shield. there are many folks here that arent running them simply cuz they got tired of the non-stop rattling or they fell off like yours. there are some heat issues with it being that close to the tranny. but there is seriously nothing you can do about it now. i got an ORP and wrapped it. now my header and orp are wrapped and there is hardly any underhood heat from exhaust now. its a very good way to go when shields take a turn for the worse.
hopefully someone will chime in here that isnt running a shield and can say something about how the tranny performs with that much heat underneath it.

You should be fine. If it bothers you that much, tell the dealer it fell off going down the highway. They will probably throw you a new one.

i dont think the stealerships can order just the shield. they have to replace the whole cat.

I had the dealer take mine off, lol. Have had zero issues and it gets damn hot here in the summer time...we see upper 90's and 100 peak summer.

think of it as weight reduction
