Clutch Trouble with a brand new ST

Looking for some help!

Got a new ST3 for Christmas (yep santa was feeling generous!) however over the last month, when its been very cold/wet over night, in the morning I am unable to get the car into reverse or 1st gear! It starts fine, if I leave it ticking over for a bit I can eventually (with some force) get it into gear, then after about 10miles its fine. I have also noticed that clutch pedal seems really low to the floor after a really cold night.

Took it to Ford who initially did not realise it was under warranty and immediately told me I needed a new clutch fitted (just from my account of the problem). When I explained I have only had it 2 months and its only done 1800 miles they back tracked and told me they'd have to fully investigate..... After which they said there was nothing wrong and they would not do anything.

So annoyed as the fault is intermittent, when its booked in the garage it makes a full recovery and makes a liar of me!

Anyone had a similar problem? Obviously my main concern is possible long term damage to parts that I'll end up paying for as soon as the warranty runs out in 3 years time.

thanks Louise

obviously something is not right keep taking it back. you are not imagining this. If it does it one morning have it towed to the dealership and then let them look at it or try another Dealer. At some point it wil do the same thing for them.

to me though I think the Clutch Fluid may need to be bled. There may be air bubbles in the lines causing it not to fully release.

I have an 06 ZX4 and am having the same problems. On a cold morning it will not come back up, and even when it is warm it still will be half an inch from the top. Ford told me it was within there parameters and if I wanted it fixed, I would have to pay for it, they would not do it. Think I am going to buy a Honda...
