Low Dyno Number's?

I recently dynoed my car on a dynojet, and felt that my car really underachieved. I have an intake, borla exhaust, hfc, 67mm t/b, Taylor plug wires w/NGK Laser plugs, and a 93 oct focussport tune. My numbers were only 152 hp and 139 ft/lb. I would of thought that my car with just a tune would make that much power. I know max hp is not always important (made 152 hp from 6000-7600 rpm) but, I really thought I should have made at least at 160 hp. I really think that either my tune, or insufficient spark plugs are making me dyno low.

you gotta remember that on 4cyl engines mods don't make as much of a difference as with larger engines, as well as you can't add manufacturer claimed power gains together. The tune also, doesn't make a huge difference in peak numbers, it effects the low and midrange much more.

You should come to Tom's on March 31st..

Yea, well Im not planning on being there for long. Plan on either a pw supercharger, or xios turbo kit. I guess that the tb and the exhaust isn't giving me any power in the first place.

Numbers are pretty average. Just kinda shows SVT did thier homework cause the engine already breathes extremely good.

What size exhaust. Im betting on 2.5 - which does basically nothing extra for you but sound good. The only other thing you have (besides the tune) that would effect anything is the intake - and even the best CAI wont net you more than a single pony or two on a lucky day.

the HFC is worth a few, the tune for 93 should have more aggressive timing and spark curves to improve power a bit. CAI and fresh gapped plugs should be worth about 2 hp. but remember, every engine is a little different. maybe your head gasket is a bit thicker than most. or maybe theres more variance in your piston rings or something. maybe your cam timing is a bit off on the exhaust side.

moral of the story, jsut cus someone made x amount of power doenst mean you'll make the same with the same mods.

Ill try to get the dyno up later. Well something could be wrong with the tune, or my NGK spark plugs. The A/F seemed to fluctuate from 13.4 to 12.6 throughout the rev range, is that signifcant? Think I should go back and buy the stock plugs?
