My clutch has been replaced. Here are the details

I encountered a chattering and a shooting up of RPMs while driving a few nights ago. I took this as a sure sign that my clutch should be fixed. With my car at 35,750 miles, I took it to the dealership and put them to work!

EVERYTHING ended up covered under warranty. Here's what they did:

Correction Verified concern performed TSB 04-21-19. R&R trans
51-1 Remove and install flywheel
51-2 Replace slave cylindar retest OK
FMC 2M5Z 7A564 AA *cylindar asy - clut 1 $94.23
FMC 4M5Z 7550 AA REMANDISC - 1 $61.06
FMC 4M5Z 7563 AA REMAMPLATE 1 $82.90
FMC 3S4Z 6477 AA Flywheel asy - 1 $242.73
FMC W702426 S303 Bolt - hex. head 6 $15.18
FMC W707339 S430 Screw 6 $14.22
FMC W701350 S309 Sleeve-Guide 2 $3.52
FMC XT M5 QS Fluid - tranmission 3 $40.14
Parts: count 21 Allowance: 221.57

Parts: $775.55
Lab-mechanical: $444.74
TOtal charge for concern: $1220.29

All this, and they finished it in 1.5 days flat.

I was not at all pleased with the dealership last time I took my car in for a different problem since they didn't fix the problem. But this time around I am actually very very pleased! They took care of this shit and from the looks of it they did not skimp on anything..including the master cylindar.

I haven't had a chance to drive it since my dad dropped it off at work just now for me..but I sat in it and the clutch feels like my old ZX3 instead of like my SVT's did before.

The SVT clutch I had originally was EXTREMELY heavy...heavier than any ferrari I have ever sat in.

The NEW clutch they put in my car is very light-weight. It no longer has the high compression feel you get on like a Kawa KX500...feels more like a 125CC now!

You are really lucky they warrantied it. Do you have an extended or was it just the 3/36?

Cool, glad they handled it properly. Thats the way a dealership should work. Thats how we do it.

hell ya i'm stoked! I can't wait to take her out for a spin. The softer clutch will be a very welcome addition to my car. My left leg is like 3 times bigger than the right

Thanks for the help b16...it's much appreciated as always!

midknight--it is very nice to get somethin without fighting for it ;)

Thanks klondike...how does your clutch feel? does it slip a lot? I really only changed mine as a precautionary measure since I would be driving to LA and on thsi trip I clicked right past 36,000. I doubt they would have covered me for 1220 dollars worth of parts if I was out of the bumper to bumper so it may be a good idea to get it looked into before ou pass that point.
