SCT Xcal II owners.....

Anyone know what the difference between version 13 and the version 14 update is? I downloaded the update off of the SCT site last night....the idle seems smoother and the midrange "fatter" but have no idea if that's what the update was for or not......link to 9415B update:

a tuner just adjusts the ecm programing. so the differents is the settings for a/f, vvt, tuning valve in the manifold. iac. spark advance. now how much they changed you may have to call and ask them.

Wink Thanks..

First, thanks for the replies and PM's....I e-mailed SCT directly to see if they had any info they could give us SCT II owners.

I realize what the scanner does, but am looking for more specific info as to what they are adjusting on each update. Mainly, to see if it's even worth uploading all these upgrades if there really isn't anything worth changing. Right now, i think v13 "feels" stronger than the v14 upgrade, but that's with no hard evidence at all.....I was kinda hoping someone here had an "in" at SCT or knowledge of what each successive version was tweaked for.

Updating the Xcal2 itself should have NO effect on how your tune does. The tune is a seperate file and should not be effected by updating the software that the "flasher" itself uses.

Changing "v" changes the Firmware and nothing with the tune or tunes loaded

Smile Thanks Tom!

Hey, thanks for weighing in on this Tom and 03 orange....So, what, if anything does updating the firmware do? I had assumed they were actually tweaking the tune(s) themselves.....See, you can learn something everyday, as long as you're willing to pay attention.
