decent ford dealership - NYC area

Hi all,

Checking this forums since the time I got my SVTf. Well, looks like it's time to take it to the shop. Hence my question:

I live in Brooklyn, NY. Does anyone know a decent dealership that works on SVTs around NYC area? Does it absolutely have to be SVT certified?

Thanks for your help
Kirill

What are you trying to get done?
I have a buddy that owns a performance shop in Brick NJ (like an hour south of you..) who does work on my Focus. Labor is like $90 an hour.

I live on staten island, and got my tsb done at island ford on. they did a good job and gave me no hassle. plus got a loaner but I did have to wait a week and a half cause their certified svt mechanic was out for a couple of days.plus they are a pretty busy place.

What is the failure/flaw? Maybe it will be an easy fix and we can help.

Wow, I got some responses. Thanks guys!

First, the "check engine" light is on. The code reads "P0133 02 circute slow response (bank 1, sensor 1)".

Second, I think something's wrong with the suspension. Lots of noises going over even minor bumps. When going over uneven surface in turns some lateral movement and shaking (alignment off?). There's also some play in the steering (one of the end links, probably) and sometimes this rubbing sound when turning the steering wheel while standing still (strut bearing?).

I have extended warranty from ford, so I prefer to go to a ford dealership.

Again, thank you all.
Erg.

Just googled the code. It is "oxygen sensor slow response". So, I probably have to replace it since I have a $100 deductible on my warranty and I suspect the sensor itself costs much less. Off to "How To" section...

To answer one of your questions, any Ford dealer can work on your car now. It used to be that you had to take your SVT to a certified dealer. Thats not the case anymore. technically, SVT doesnt exist anymore, and hince, you can take it to any dealer that you trust. That goes for warranty work as well.
