I don't believe it will be covered by anything other than the new car 3/36k. If you look at the TSB it will say something like, "Eligible under the provisions of the new car warranty."

i have that warranty but i havent had any tranny work done under it- but my guess would be no- just look at your paperwork that came with your warranty agreement it tells you everything that is covered

My service advisor told me that if there is any damage to parts other than the clutch, i.e. the tranny input shaft, pressure plate, etc., that the 100K powertrain warranty would take care of the labor costs. I would only have to pay for the cost of the new clutch plate. Absent any visible damage to the other parts, I'm responsible for the whole thing.

I purchased the car from a private owner at about 20K miles. He had the Extended / Premium warranty which cost me $50 to transfer to my name. I just had the whole shabang replaced at 44K and all it cost me was the deductable. Noted on the service report was the TSB everyone has referenced elsewhere in the forums. I about fell over when the Advisor told me I was totally covered for all new components from Ford. All it cost me was the $50 deductable.

I had a faulty clutch pad that took out the pressure plate... because the pad was the source of the problem, nothing was covered, plus they tried to charge me $450 for them takeing the transmission out, then refused to have me pay them to reinstall anything... lost a bunch of bolts, what a mess.

yack...nasty. SO the moral of the story is? Should people under 36,000 miles take their cars in to have the clutch TSB fixed? Or will the TSB be covered by ford at any mileage and with any warranty? I was always under the impression that, since it is a TSB, it is a RECALL...and since it is a RECALL, it is FORDS problem.

Your wrong. It's really only covered by the 1/12k warranty. Anything outside that is just a good faith repair. It's nice when companies are honest about that. Mitsu is fixing my TV two months out of warranty and covering everything.

The TSB is just a notice and outlined procedure.
