nice write up on a 02 svtf with dyno's

in the svt enthusiast mag
just got my first mag in over a year

but any way there is a very nice write up on a 02 svtf they do a base line dyno and then added on parts. starts with a k&n panel then borla cat-back, focus central orp, pro-m mass air meter with conical filter, focus central t/b, focus central 4-2-1 race header (prototype)and the focus central underdrive pullys

base run was 143.0hp and 125.5 lb of torque

then with the orp,pro-m mass air meter with conical filter, focus central t/b and the borla cat-back they get 154.7hp/ 134.3 lb of torque

so not bad at all really
but just with the k&n panel filter and orp it dynoed at 149.2 hp/ and 130.2 lb of torque

just thought I would share the info

IMO, those numbers seem low. I can't remember what dyno they used, so that plays a part. But hey, beggars can't be choosers. Any SVT writeup is nice.

Takes awhile to recieve all the stuff.Just got the mag today. After looking at the dyno numbers I am glad havnt wasted any money on exhaust/header & intake.Seems like I will be going the K&N filter panel, throttle body & spray way.

An intake and exhaust are worthwhile investments, although the gains are not big. I personally love my AEM CAI. You will get better gains that what they got. They only stuck an open filter on the end of the MAF. AEM's larger, smooth bent tubing flows as good as possible, and it sucks cool air from under the car. Make a dirt shield, and you're good to go.

The exhaust was a little less noticeable, but there was a difference. And besides, for $229 + shipping, I couldn't pass it up.

Took 4 months to get my stuff. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't change the catback. Actually lost some low end.
