Looking for a good doctor for my SVT

Hey everyone! I bought a 02' SVT about 3 weeks ago. The car looks awesome, and it seemed to have no problmes at all until a wierd noise coming out of the engine took a way the joy out of my new ride. I live in West Covina California and I'm Looking for a good mechanic to take care of my SVT. I've been reading about the clutch chattering, and it seems like that might be the problem. I need help, please!

Hey Focistang85,

It sounds like something is grinding, an the noise comes from the lower part of the engine. The first time I heard the noise, it lasted for a couple of minutes, and it came back about week later. Besides the noise, the gears seem to work, and I don't feel any lack of power. I don't wanna drive the car to avoid more serious complications...

When does it grind? Under what circumstances? Was there a single point when you heard it happen for the first time?

As soons as I turn on the engine. When I was driving the noise decreased as the speed went up, or at least it seemed like it. The if press the clutch nothing changes. I havent tried to change gears while car is on and still, to see if anything changes. If you want could email you a clip with the noise.

Water pump bearings sound liker there going bad. Take a long screw driver and put the srew end on the base of the water pump(with the car running) and put your ear on the handle and listen for a grinding noise. If its not there move the screw driver and listen other places, like the the cyclnders etc...

Hey nick, I thought about the water pump too, but never considered the bearings as an option. I’m going to try the screw driver thing tomorrow morning. I got a recording of the noise if you would like to listen to it. Thanks for the help.
