svt question

I have a new 03 , and am wondering if anyone may have this problem. It seems the car chugs at low speeds and just under 3000 rmp it doesnt feel like a surge but a slight drop in power and then back up never faster and usually when cold any info or ideas would be great

thanks

try this www.alldata.com/TSB when you fiind it print it and take it to the dealer. hope it helps. My car was doing this and it was also reving between gear shifts with no throttle being applied.

it revs high inbetween shifts because it is electronically controlled, everything in the svt is electronically controlled, as for teh surging mine does the same thing when its cold, i had a friend who had a jetta that did the same thing if u let the car warm up it doesnt do it.

I've got it too. Been in once and malf not confirmed. I'm gonna have to communicate directly with the tach as service writers are no good at getting the correct info to them sometimes.

I called it "hunting" The engine didn't want to settle down to a particualr throttle setting at light load between 2000-3500 RPM. Most noticable in 2nd or 3rd gear (probably 1st too but I never checked).

It does it warm too.

Are there any major fixes that Ford has for this car?
Ford has a Technical Service Bulliten (TSB) out that essentially covers intake and Computer updates and fixes. If you are having significant drivability problems with regard to idle quality, power and fuel economy, take it in and have them reference their Oasis system for the fixes (TSB #03-19-11 (YRFO). as of 2003-10-01).
