Smile New guy on the block !!

Hi

I just traded in my Contour SVT for a 04 Focus SVT and have a question what is the proper torque setting for the wheel nuts ? The manual says to torque to specs but no-where in the manual does it tell you what it is. The dealer told me 94 Ft. lbs but that seems a bit high compared to the Contour and my other cars.

Thanks

Its funny they always say "Consult your owners manual".I noticed this on several Fords I owned,my Mustang ,Ranger, and both Focuses. But never anything in the manual. I've heard a range from 90-100ft.lbs,anywhere there,I'm sure you'll be ok. You could always call a tire store and see what they say too.(Nice color choice same what I ordered for my 03!!)

Just make them tight. I've never torqued to any specific spec on any of the 9 vehicle's I've ever owned. I've never had any problems either.

Contour. Ford's most recent Edsel. My father won't even sell them at his Ford dealership. If one comes in on trade...off to the auction it goes. Recall nightmare.

Hmmmm I didn't even know there was a Tq for the wheels. I just put mine on until there tight. LOL. I learn something new every day.
