Unhappy bogging 1st gear acceleration

so engine is rebuilt(story on another thread)

sometimes when I take off in 1st gear and I am releasing the clutch, the car will not rev past 2-3k rpm unless I push the gas pedal down almost all the way. this is only sometimes, I thought it was my driving but nope. what should I check for the cause of this? It is pretty annoying.

Traction Control will do that to you.

will TC do that even when I take it easy? By take off in my first post I dont mean dropping the clutch, I feather it slowly and match with the gas pedal. even then the car will not rev past 3K RPM. Is that still the TC causing that?

It most likely is. Pull fuse #46 from the fuse panel under the steering wheel and try taking off again. If you can rev past 3k, then it was your TC. Don't leave the fuse out too long though; it disables ABS as well as TC.

If TC is the problem, you can get an aftermarket tune that allows you to completely disable TC when the TC switch is pressed. Out of the factory, pressing the switch only disables TC above 20mph.

Doubt you will find it to be TC

You will need a scan tool to find this one , Is your CEL light one , I would check TPS , MAF voltage , ECT , IAT , VCT

Try resetting the ECU by taking the Batt loose

Do you have a tune in your SVT

Tom

started right after the rebuild. it hasnt gotten any worse either, it just happens sometimes after I start the car. warmed up or cold it doesnt matter.

1turbofocus - there is no CEL and the car is bone stock. I will try resetting the ECU. will I need a scan tool to check all you mentioned or will a multimeter suffice?

I gotta agree with 1turbofocus.
That doesn't sound like a TC issue what-so-ever.

And, yes, you'll need a scan tool.
IIRC, Autozone and some other stores will scan your car for free.

I third that as well.

Almost sounds like what my car did when the TPS died the car would slow down until I got to full throttle and then it would hesitate and all of a sudden it would rev. It was damn near undriveable though. Happened on my way hoe from work one day I had a check engine light by the time I got to the dealership which was on my way home.
