Unpredictable Idle

02 SVTF. When I cold start it, it goes to about 1300 rpm and from what I've heard advances the ignotion to help light off the cat, so it runs really strange. My problem is that sometimes when I push in the clutch, the rpms shoot up to over 2000 and hang there which makes it difficult to say...navigate between gas pumps. Is this a common SVTF problem and is there a fix for it?

I'd say a tune should fix it. Mine idled weird too with the stock tune. I'd talk to Tom at www.focus-power.com. He tuned mine and I love it. Not sure if there's another problem though, maybe someone will chime in.

There is a tune that came out in april 06 from ford for the SVTF I got it and It fixed that problem, if your under warentee have it flashed with the april 06 flash, if not there are several companys that make tunes using the SCT II flasher.

Well then I guess you need to sell me your predator lol, seriously the local shop sells the SCT XCal 2, but they don't have much experience tuning Focus, so I'm not sure I want to deal with them...Anyone know how much dyno time it can take to get a good tune and if they could mess up your car badly accidentally?
