Unhappy My shifter feels alittle loose!

The past couple of weeks I've noticed that my SVT shifter has been getting looser as the days goe by...I took the bag off and it looks like the one plastic bushing is wearing out..I not really sure if thats the problem..I've been told that that I have to fix my linkcage cables.
What do you gus think?? Is this a common SVT problem??
Cheers,

Also check the nylon bushings on the shift levers on the transmission. Those can sometimes beat out and unfortunately they are not orderable from Ford!

The stick feels to mushy and long.. Before it was alot shorter to get to 4th for example..the shifts were alot cleaner before now it takes alittle more effort!

Its the cables, they need adjustment. The nylon bushings; when they go bad, esp. going ito reverse the cable will pop off the shifter (at the shifter under the boot) and you will loose reverse (that bushing takes the most stress). Just go have the cables adjusted or do a search and you'll read how to do it...

i have play on my shifter. like when it's in gear, i can move it in circular motions with maybe a 1in radius. also i've had problems with my shifter linkage popping off the tranny on hard shifts. put a wire tie on it but that popped off... then i put 2 wire ties on and no problems since then lol. guess doubling up does offer more protection
