DSI Clip Removal problems

So my DSI clip broke as it so often does, i purchaced a aliminum one from Central Florida Motorsports from thier ebay auction. Now i have the solution!, almost....

But alas i cannot remove the old clip. I have tried everything short of dissassembling the entire intake assembly. The clip is also spring loaded which could be an issue for reinstallation. I also removed the lock ring from then end of the shaft and tried to pull it but it did not budge.

here is a link with the pictures of the clip

Does anyone know the procedure for removing and reinstalling the new clip? Any ideas would be helpfull.

Scott

I cant see your pic, but im assuming you have the lock ring off. Try pulling the spring end off and the gently prying the DSI up... thats what i did, still took a little force. Also reinstalling the spring was a lil pain but no biggy!

I just gave it a quick pry with a flat head and it was off , i also changed the retaining ring to a C clip.

thanks guys,
I did try to pry the clip off with a flathead after i removed the lock ring but i was afraid to put to much force on it. I did not want to break the plastic beside it. Do you think it would be easier to do if i released the spring tension first?

Also i had no personal picture i just added the link that had pictures for refrence.
