Getting ready - new wheels

Here comes winter hence winter tires.

Just did this because there had been rust stains on the finish. So, I just painted them black! Did a bit of masking as well to give a bit of uniqueness. My gf tells me they look like police wheels.

Perhaps I should stick an "Interceptor" badge somewhere?

Looks cool!
Nice job on the paint.
How'd you get such a perfect "masK" job on the center of the wheel?
I couldn't imagine masking tape being that accurate.

I was wondering the same thing, how did you get such a perfect circle with tape if thats what you used

I used the blue painter's masking tape, which is in fact accurate. The wheel center dish has a slight "dip where the tape can be placed all around. I used my thumb.

Then I just lightly coated the wheel with a can of spray paint - Tremclad gloss black.

Of course, I only sanded it down to the primer so it took well.

Nice job on the rims and i noticed that you got Graspics, Is this your first year running them?

I just got mine today and i'm gonna mount them soon and i wanted to know how well they handle in the snow.

Hey superchop - The graspics are my second year running them. They really last long! I've had Pirelli Snowsports 240 before and ran them into the ground, two years and they were gone - tread was disintergrating, holes everywhere.

Of course, I'm driving more conservatively in the snow with the Graspics too, so that helps. ;) They take me everywhere!

InfraRedHB - As for the light bar...hmm... But I think I'll keep it an unmarked car. ;)
