Read this if you bought a used focus

today I went to the dealership to get some sevice dunn like my vct, maifold gasket, new thermostat housing. and the they say its cover under the 100,000 mile warrenty. I was like awsome i dont need to shell out 840.00 dollars. Then he is like hold on you are not original buyer i sad yeah so? He said only the person with the name who originaly bought it can use the warrenty and with a smerk on his face he said theres nothing they can do.So I left pissed off got home and called the ford customer servise witch only took 36 mins of hearing how great ford on the phone on hold but anyways they said all I have to do is transfer my name to it and only cost 50.00 bones to i went to the dealership and did so went to sirvise told then to do the warrenty work and added my name was on there. He was like i did not think they did that anymore and i said thats wat you get for thinking. so for 50.00 bones im now saving all that othere cash so i orderd a short throw shifter. customer 1 dealership 0

Yes this is easy to do. I had the 75k/ 5 year plan transferred to me when I bought my SVT from a private party. LOL when I brought my SVT in to the dealer to have it reflashed and the cd player fixed(CDs were stuck inside) the tech was putting in all the info for the work and said yeah ok you're estimate is $535. I said HAH! Try $50 I'm under warrenty. He was like o really I said yep look it up and of course the info was right there. It was a great feeling getting a free rental and only paying the $50 deductable haha. Ohh BTW they fixed the DSI switch which they had found to be broken I didn't even know. Thank God I transfered the warrenty or else they would have raped me for that too.

The 3yr/36,000 mile warranty transfers with the car regardless of the owner. The 5yr/100,000 mile drivetrain warranty has to be transferred into the car owner's name if you are not the original owner. It can be done for $50.00 over the phone (I believe) or at any Ford dealership.

The dealership I bought mine from took care of all that right away. Definately worth the $50!

Carry on!
