Post Scared the $*&%!!! Outta Me!!

So, I drive back from school and grab a bite to eat, then drive home. I'm gettin out of my car and grab my subway sandwich out of the passenger seat. Walking to my door i notice a huge puddle of oil in front of my car. Initially I figured it was my room-mate (he's got a YJ Wrangler and it's always leaking) but he hadn't parked in the garage in a while... paranoid as hell, I lift up the car and it's practically POURING OUT !! I reach up and touch the oil filter (practically poke it to see if it's hot) and it turns. It's so loose it's about to practically fall off... I'm glad I noticed it when I did... you all might have had an "even rarer SVTF".

The car has been sitting for about a month due to an issue with my alternator going out and waiting for PA Performance to replace it. SUCKED... but didn't leak before it sat... so... what gives? Any chance it could loosen by itself??
STUPID NTB... the one time I actually allow someone else to change my oil

Time to go buy some mobile one... looks like I need to add a quart or more...

I had a similar thing happen to me. Had some wierd alternator problems and had a shop take a look. Well they took the alt out through the bottom so they didnt have to remove the S/C. Apparently when they took off the oil filter, they put the same one back on, after about a day, i was driving and noticed ALOT of smoke, immediately pulled over and saw it was pouring out! rolled it back and saw snapped this pic....

I called the shop immediate and had it towed there but it was saturday night. I threatened them with a lawyer (aka my grand pa's law partner) because at the time I didnt know if there was any permanent damage done. After I showed up before they were there monday morning, they promptly got it fixed and the mechanic was nearly fired for making such a dumb mistake because it turns out all it was, was a bad O ring on the oil filter.

I changed it by myself, and I guess thru rapid temp. changes last year, the sealm on the oil filter shrunk, and it leaked...beats me ya know, i hadnt seen a spot of oil, and then like 2 months after i change it, temperature changes, next day, poof, there was oil.
