Just bought an SVT, now what?

Just bought a 2004 SVT Focus 4-Door it has 25K original miles and still smells brand new on the inside!!!! Looking to get more horsepower out of it. Im pretty new to the Focus world and have been building fast mustangs for a while now. I need more horsepower!! I realize it can't really get close to my 700rwhp Cobra, but I need more than the stock 170hp I have right now. Its still under warranty so I dont want to do a turbo or blower. What works and what doesn't? What's the most bang for my buck (no nitrous)??? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Just want to let you know that you are SOOL on stuff for and 04 w/ warranty. I have a 2 svts and one is suped up with bolt ons only and they killed my warranty on it. I would say dont waste your time with the small stuff go with a pro charger or nitrous kit, also big things for this car is the fact that it cant get off the line worth shit. I suggest going to C-F-M.com and get an Xcal 2 sf and chip it. Set the rev limiter to 7500 and set the rev limiter in nuetral to 3300. I know you have heard the term 2step or drag launch it takes around a half second off your best 1/4 mile time because the car launches the way it should. You might have to fidel with it to find the perfect rpm for the 2step. If you dont want power adders then go with 65mm tb offroad pipe cai or sr and get the single cam gear. Then dyno tune it, the xcal is a must trust me it wakes this beast right up even in stock models. Welcome to FF and the world of focus's

orp, cai , and dyno tune. everything else is a waste, if you want to fi xios motorsports has a kit out. the biggest issue with our cars the fwd. you can have 12-0843973-06 whp but putting it to the ground will be a hassle and a issue

Thanks, what brand of pipe and CAI is available? Whats the best one? I am used to BBK exhaust and AFM powerpipes for the mustang. No turbo or blower for me yet.

Welcome to the cult!!LOL. Well coming from a Mustang, I know probably has been a change. However you will quickly appreciate the Handling and dememanor of your SVT Focus. I own a 03. So far, I went and put The steeda Short Ram intake, The FYR0 update for the system. (Your can being an 04 may have it already), however if not, is not that is a mod per say, but It does fixes a lot of the glitches the car has when first turned on and bogging down, at least it did to me. I also installed the 65mm throttle body and the Steeda Underdrive pulleys. People will tell you that the exhaust is good as it is. I invested in a magnaflow. Having only one muffler rather than the stock 2 muffler set up, really helped. People might say they did not see a lot of difference. I did. But unless going with forced induction, the car is pretty fast already. An after market tune will also help.
