NEW SVTF Owner

Hello All

Just wanted to introduce myself.
I just picked up the SVTF about 2 months ago.
The previous owner was also a member on here.
Venom_Injected
I have a 2003 Pitch Black SVT with about 30000 miles on it.
Should be spraying 50-75 shot by weeks end.
So far quartermile time with current mods (cold air, pullies, phantom grip limited slip and short throw shifter) Spinning through 1st gear 15.9 at 89 mph.
60 foot time of
2.4
also hit the rev limiter going into 2nd.
Only ran it once since the track (ATCO RACEWAY) was so crowded.
BTW tires on the car are GRASPIC Snow tires. I think that may be a problem.

Well just wanted to introduce myself.

Jim

Dragging with snow tires! That's a new one. LOL... I think if you just got the car an aftermarket tune (preferrably dyno tune if you have the time and cash), you can cut your time down some. Especially if you have traction control (a tune will completely kill the TC when you disable it via the TC button on the center console on a 2003. Normally TC is still active up to 20mph when disabled, which is probably why your 60' is so high).

Welcome to the SVT club though! Where is Blackwood? Check out the Strictly Focused forum and stop by some meets if you're in the area. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...?s=&forumid=68

I am running a Tune from Turbo Tom which I really like.
I do not think traction control is on this car, I never felt it kick on and dont have a button for it.

Here is a link to my MYSPACE with a video of my run.
As you can see traction is a big part of my problem.
I just dont know how much that kills my time though.

BTW Blackwood is in South Jersey.

Where do they hold meets?

BTW, the 2.4 isnt horrible...but,you can do better. Try revving to 4500 and ride the clutch out, power shift the rest of the way. Traction isnt holding you up; I launched a 2.0 60' on VERY bald Hankook RS2's with a turbo....its just your launch/ bog thats doing it. You NEED to keep the revs up!

I will try it this Thursday.
I am going to the local track.
I dont know if you seen the video or not but that was me dumping the clutch at 3500.
Not a good idea I realize now.
