I'm 6'2" and 195, and I fit fine too. Recaros are, however, firmer (harder, stiffer) than the red/black or blue/black SVT seats, and not as grippy as the non-Recaros, but that's what the big bolsters are for. Keep in mind that the side air bags are model year specific, so you will need to put your '02 side air bags into whatever model year Recaros you end up with.
Good luck.
I would only do it if your original seats are beat, or you know you fit the Recaros perfectly. $900 interior upgrade on a $6000 car is not usually cost effective.
Seeing the OP has an 02, reworking the airbags might not be worth the hassle. I love my torn red seats for reasons others stated. Can't justify spending that coin for a $5k car.
Same here... I had a Sonic Blue '02 and not only where they plugged in under the seat, I was able to find a center console and order some switches from Tousley... I had heated seats in an '02 SVT! It was nice, all the wiring for the switches where right there under the center console, SCORE!!!
I paid 600 for my EAP Recaros and got a whole mess of other parts for my SVT... I got lucky. But the seats are SO comfortable and worth the upgrade IMO.
The Recaros are a MUST HAVE! I have them in the V6Mistake and they are head and shoulders above the blue/red SVT seats. I am 6' and 230lbs and have no issues fitting in them.
I have seen the complete Euro interior for as high as $2000 (including door cards) and seats alone for as low as $200. I figure the $900 price is pretty average for all four seats and all headrests. Plus you can sell your SVT seats ($200-$400 depending on condition) to offset the costs. Just be sure to transfer over the seat belts to the Recaros.
well then to answer OP yes they are tits. I feel lucky to have stumbled across them.
