has anyone payed full pop fro svt seats from the dealership? just curious what they cost, seems like everytme someone sells them on here theyre gone in like 5 seconds
I have seen a popular dealer/vendor on another site say they are not available through the dealer anymore. They usually only keep stuff like that through the warranty period, which is over now.
I'm gonna assume that's a typo and he meant "set". Still high though. I think prices are going down, but they are getting rattier looking as they get older when they pop up on the BST forum.
^^^ The OP said full pop from the dealership, here are the non-Steve prices on a few pieces for the Recaro seats. I didnt price every single part, after I got to the seat back cover I quit.

Honestly I think the seat cushion pads come with the heating elements on them. The Recaro's might even be over $3000 a seat for the front, $3k is what I read somewhere from a post made years ago; and the prices have gone up. I quoted a seat heater pad last fall and the price went up since I quoted it.
I came upon the rear seat cushion pad and it was around or over $300 bucks.
When someone sells the Recaro's for $1500 that's kind of a steal, that's why they go in 5 seconds.
Don't forget wiring them up to the air bag module. Depending which year seats you get, there will be some rewiring necessary to keep the air bag light off. Read this before you spend too much $$$ http://forums.focaljet.com/interior-modifications/608828-final-svt-seat-swap-thread.html. Good luck! The SVT seats are certainly worth the trouble. They are so far superior to the originals (at least the '05s).
If mine didnt hurt my back ide just recover mine but mine kill my back. I put an extra pad in a cheap walmart cover but at time i still get bad back aches.
You have to buy them used that is the only way to go. I bought a set of SVT Recaros last summer for $600. You just have to watch for the deals and when they come up you have to jump on it!
Just take your time and you'll find a used set for sale. Also, check out Craigslist and local junkyards. Every once in a while SVT parts pop up for sale locally, and they're normally cheap, so you wouldn't have to deal with shipping either.
