SHort Throw/Reverse lockout

Quick question, I was surfing around Focus Central, and I noticed that their short throw is nice but it raised a question, My SPI does not have the reverse lockout function. If I put in a short shifter WITH it, will it ADD the lockout, or can I only use it if I already had the lockout?

I believe you can install it without the reverse lockup bar.
I have a 2003 Zx3 and I removed my reverse lock out when I cut my shifter.

Yeah but if I got a short shifter would it work with the lockout? As in, would I then have it rather than getting one without?

You don't need it on there.
You can install it without the reverse lock out.
The Reverse lock out is just a bar that goes on the shifter to prevent you from shifting
in to reverse unless you pull up on the bar.
It would be hard to put a car in to reverse when driving unless you forget your in a 5-speed and try to get 6th gear.

I removed mine on my stock shifter and now I can go in to reverse by just pulling the shifter all the way over to the right then down. No need to have a reverse lock out baby sitter anymore.
