Well... a few things that would be good to know would be:

1) What kind of budget are we looking at?
2) Are you looking for show or go products?
3) Easy to install stuff, More difficult things to install, or Little of both?

Those are all I can think of at the moment, but I think from those questions we can learn what you want personally, then we can help you decide what to do.

Cheers!

to the Forums by the way :)

Easy- Intake sysytem & computer chip....
Here it goes Most good intakes are made for the ZETEC so inorder for one to fit you have to buy a new TB (Throttle Body) 60mm from www.focus-central.com or a few other places, NO you cant take a TB off a ZETEC and throw it on the SPI IT WILL NOT FIT. Other than the TB issue ANY ZETEC intake will fit. Your best bet with the chip would be the SCT from FC ( focus Central) you custom tune to what you need and then buy off the site.

Medium- Header & Exaust.......
There are lots of choices what you will want to think about is local laws on this one (emmissions test or Sound Polution laws) Now race headers cut out the catalitic converter and runs directly to your exaust, to prevent a CEL (Check Engine Light) you will need to get an 02 cheater, next option is a Shorty header with a Highflow catalitic converter or ORP (Off Road Pipe) the highflow cat will keep you legal and you will not need a 02 Cheater with that setup, while the ORP does the same as the Race header(Cuts out the cat)
Now exaust you have alot of choices too such as brands like Magnaflow,MBRP, Flowmaster, Borla. The biggest thing here is which header you have depends on the sound ( Race header + magnaflow catback = LOUD) the volume of the noise can be controlled by adding a secondary muffler to the system or just buying a FS (Focus Sport) stealth system. Your best bet is to go with a 2 1/4 catback system unless you are going for a major Turbo job then you should get a larger size.

Hard- Port & Polish Heads, Cams, Nitrous,
I have not done any of this YET, so I cant say much about these.

A few other basic mods would be
Under Drive Pullies (UDP)
Suspension
and the biggest one here is the cluster swap if you dont have a Tach

Now I have just started moding the focus, and I started with t/b and I went with the Volant intake. I have had them on for about 7 months and haven't had a problem, new I'm working on the exhaust. I just waiting for my FS "stealth" exhaust to come then I can install that. Once I have this completed I'm not sure which way to go either the race header or shorty w/ ORP.

Race header is better than shorty and ORP, better gains and it is cheaper.

Jedi you will soon be.

Great reply! The only thing I would change is the Focus Central plug. FC has had major issues in completing orders and customer satisfaction. I'd go there as a last resort. FocusSport is a better bet.

Also, add: www.escortfocus.com
