It's a relatively simple, free mod. Some like it, some don't. The beauty of this mod is that it's easily reversed if you don't like it.
Here's how it goes:

Take off your CAI
Remove your IMRC motor. It's the black box behind your ignition coil and has a two wire connection. I believe it's an 8mm set of bolts (x3) to remove the IMRC. If you have a manual, it's a little difficult, but it CAN be done. Patience Grasshopper.
Rotate the linkage the IMRC was attached to forward (toward the radiator) all the way. Now rotate it back 1/2way and secure the linkage so it can't move either way. Secure the IMRC motor so it doesn't flop around while you drive it. Make sure it's plugged in or you'll get a CEL. Make sure the IMRC motor can rotate or you'll get a CEL.
OK, put your toy back together and go for a spin. If you like it, sweet. If you don't, put everything back as it was. Some guys have used longer bolts and some washers to move the IMRC motor back so the motor and the linkage can't touch, but still look stock.

What the SWAB does is open your secondary butterflies to the full open position. You will lose a bit of off-line zip, but you'll gain in the top end. Engine sounds throatier, and does have quicker accelleration overall.

A caution; If you rotate the linkage all the way forward and secure it, what you've really done is flip the linkage 180* and it is actually closed.

Let me know what you think.

Jim

Trust me on this... The "W" in SWAB is for WATERBOY. I have had it for over 4 years with no CEL or problems. Still get great gas mileage.

Chicken. It took me longer to type the reply than it takes to do the mod.

It really is an easy thing to do. If you can swap out a battery, i believe you can do this.

thanks,
randy
