off road pipe vs race header

Since my exhaust is free flowing pretty much except for the cat, would it be more beneficial for me to get an off road pipe vs a race header due to me not having any head work done and from the research I've gathered they make about the same whp but the prices are so much different. I dont know maybe it's just me but 7whp from an off road pipe 140$ 7 whp from race header 350$.

Get with waterboy if you want an ORP he might still have one for sale and about the diffrence I have no idea. But like I said waterboy will hook you up, he is very reliable.

I say get the race headers, since the stock manifold will still be your bottleneck if you get an ORP.

Way off topic, but why do you have 225's in the rear and 215's in the front? you do realize that Foci are front wheel drive right? anyways its your decision.

off road pipe vs race header

I can understand that but why spend an extra 200 bucks for the same amount of gain. Oh yeah by the way that set makes the car handle quite well but I have different rims now so I gotta update my profile.

Tig:

My ORP is sold, but there IS an alternative to the ORP/header. It is the Escort GT 4-2-1 header. $50 at the junkyard, and about the same for some welding. It will bolt on, and with some welding and a bend from your cat, it'll bolt right up. I have pics SOMEWHERE of what it'll look like.

You'll also have to change the flexpipe at some point. All the free-flowing parts are nice, but the bottleneck at the flex will nullify a good part of your efforts. I know a guy who makes them in 2.25" for $130. Nice work, too.

Do you have emissions tests? If so, you'll need to think of a way to swap the cat back in for the certification, then a quick swap afterward. Here in Ohio, there are no mobile testing stations. Might want to check on that for your area so you don't get bit.

Well my car is registered out of state and doesn't require emissions testing, but I think i'm going to go with the full race header but not right now though, I've got bigger fish to fry.
