What's your SPI's gas mileage?

I bought my 2003 Focus SE with the 2.0L SPI in late December expecting over 30 mpg. So far, the gas mileage has consistently been 26 and 27 mpg. I have a long commute so most of those miles are highway miles. I was just wondering what everyone else is getting. I think my car might have problems...

In the winter months I'm right around 250-260 miles a tank and in the summer I'm at 280-290 miles a tank. My milage depands on how I'm driving and also 90% of the miles is city driving.

Whoa... I averaged 42MPG over 3500ish miles on our big run to Nova Scotia last summer. *does math in head* I get MINIMUM 200 miles per tank in the city, and that's in the winter.

Dunno what's going on there for you guys, but...

EDIT - That was a personal best of 640 or 670KMs and still not at the 0 on the gas gauge while travelling for my Canadian brethren, and I get about 80-100KMs per quarter tank in town in the winter... generally sliding towards 80ish per quarter in the weather we've had lately in Northern Ontario :D
