Here's where it gets fuzzy:

I changed my turbo on my TC, as well as went with a FMIC. So really the parts were free, as they were lying in my garage begging for some use. So which car "paid" for the parts? I dunno.

The injectors (brand new) were $200
The piping and HKS were $250, but that also covered the used Spearco FMIC for my TC
The SCT was $275... I got that price for testing the SPI SCT chip for FS.
Intercooler???
Turbo???
Adjustable boost controller $45
Pro-M 77 MM MAF, with MAC filter and Iceman upper $175. Used Iceman and MAC on TC
Cam and peripherals $475
Port and polish- $45 for the P&P kit
Oil cooler $25 on Ebay
Tranny cooler $15
Fluff money$150

Total:$1660

It was also standard equipment on the Thunderbird TC from '87-88. The IHI was fine, but would flatten out after 18 psi. It just wasn't efficient after that. The T3 could handle up to 25 psi without that problem, so i changed it to the T3. I run 22+ psi on the 'Bird, so the switch was necessary.

Ok cause my friend with his probe blew his turbo with 140,000 miles easy change but is the T3 a direct bolt on or did you have to fab a flange for it to fit

pagan: yeah, there's other ways to go, for sure. I did mine this way because I had 1/2 the parts lying in my garage gathering dust. I figure what the hell and went for it.

Red: Yes, you'll have to weld a T3 flange in the ex. manifold fot a T3 to work on your Probe. If your IHI is water-cooled, you'll need to block off the water lines. You'll need to run a different oil return line, too. The feed line should be the same.
The IHI has a different flange on it for the 2.2 I don't know why, but the T3 flange was made on the IHI for the 2.3 turbos in the T'Birds. I'd assume it was because the exhaust manifolds were already made for the 2.3 and it was easier to flange the turbo to mate to the manifold. I'm just guessing at this, but who really knows besides Ford?
