I think 200k is the most elder SPI I've heard of. Does it have a beard? Does it give sage advice to the younger SPI's?

My 2000 SE just dropped #2 intake guide at 165k and was running nicely until I started it one day. Broke the piston, put the wrist pin through the side of the cylinder wall. Called around, found a nice block $250, new head $350, misc rebuild parts 300. Easy to remove and rebuild. Hope to get another 100k out of it, if the auto tranny holds out.

I picked up a nice '03 with a Duratec 2.3 in it for $1,700. Had to fix some previous owners issues, but nothing big. Running GREAT now!

Still on the fence what to do with the 00' with the dead SPI in it. Hate to part it out, but SPI junkyard motors are so $$$ what to do what to do...

The 00' SPI is relatively easy to build, especially if the block is still good. I found a nice block, new head and pistons and built mine for a grand. Back on the street now.
