Brand New Here With A Few Questions

This board is great... Glad to be here.

I have a few questions and I dont know if they should all go here... 2 have to do with engine 1 is suspension.

The engine question is...

I just had a magnaflow catback installed and now I smell something like heated plastic... common or do I have to worry...

Other Question is I have a Volant Intake waiting to be installed... the guy at the shop said it wont fit. Part#: VOL-19420C any Ideas on this also...

I have a 2003 Sedan SE with a 2.0 Split Port.

Im pretty new to the car world and mods so any info is really helpfull

Thank you

Mine did it too. Give it a while. It will stop.

Also, go to the newbie links. LOTS of info is there and the search button is great too.

It wont fit b/c you have the spi engine. The volant is made for the zetec.

Ahh ok so I wont worry about the catback thanks... But the site I purchased the volant had it under this title Volant Cool-Air Intake Kit: 00-02 Ford Focus w/2.0L (boxed filter) now granted I have a 2003 2.0 ... is there any way to make this work you think?

Thanks for the info

but i will be more than happy to take that nasty old volant off your hands
lol....if i had the money....How much are you willing to part with it??

The smell is common. What's happening is that your magnaflow has chemicals on the inside that offer a protective coating of your exhaust so that it won't rust. I believe that they put it in the first big pipe so that it makes it's way through the whole cat-back (or flex-back) system.

Forgot my other question... If i snap a few photos of my coil overs that I had installed yesterday could you eye them an see if its done right? The guy said I need to install more parts now to keep the coils stable and I want to know how hard it is to raise the height because its really to low right now and my town is full of hills to bottom out on.

maybe you need camber adjustment. Do you recall what he means by "more parts?" I'm sure he didn't say it like that.
