I was wondering the same thing. Anyone talked to ford yet? my 2000 2.0L 4dr engine just valve seats just broke, and this is ridiculous for the low amount of miles it has.

let me rewrite that for you.

"my car has been out of warranty for 11 years, do you think i can get Ford fix or pay for this broken part?"

No, you are 11 years too late to that party.

Why is this thread still going? Pretty soon these motors will be completely phased out and extinct. Just a memory.

A 15 year old car with low miles is not 'like new' by any means. Yes, year 2000 cars are now 15, considering 2015 is 6 weeks away! Age wears a car down too, it is not "preserved" from sitting. Rubber and plastic age, and metal bends.

Can't expect a car that old to 'run like new'. After 7-8 years, it's survival of the fittest.

good luck trying to get ford to come off anything. i have to disagree with the person whose only advice was to "move on". It says something about the culture of a company to take your $$$ and not disclose or advise at least the KNOWN issues with this car. If it was a $200 laptop with a bad battery I would expect the same thing. Ford has the $$$ and resources to address this issue, they choose not to. It's ironic that the poster says "greenback greedy" when I think he should say that to the FORD MOTOR COMPANY, not the consumer. LOL
