Talking New SPI Motor

Well the 2000 ford focus has dropped the #4 valve seat and is toast. I had 151,000 miles on it. I really love this car, if I decide to have a new motor put it from the dealer has the issues been resolved with the head or is it just a time bomb waiting to explode again. Thanks to all that reply

New SPI engine? Where the hell did he find it? You ask the dealer if he knows about the valve drop seat.

Well the dealer quoted me a price for one and the labor involved with replacing the spi They didn't let on that the knew about the valve seat but I figured they knew. Everybody on these forums knew about the valve seat problem and I had an idea what was wrong when I took it to the dealer

I've heard that if you get the valve seat fixed it will be fine afterward. Although I'd love to swap over to a zetec it's not something in my budget I'm just simply going to get a spare head from a junk yard and rebuild it and swap it in. Then rebuild the current one and save it for a spare. Not to mention besides the valve seat issues you just never hear about SPI issues zetec issues are a dime a dozen lately.
