Just taken a test drive after installing MBRP exhaust (wheres the performance)

after laying on my back for 3 hours I finally finished exchanging my stock for the mbrp and have to say that I love the note ( not too loud and a very low rumbleand at higher rpms I can feel the high frequency vibes through the whole body ) but...
I didnt feel much improvement on performance , a slight improvement on acceleration was felt though.
Will things get much better when my BDR TB arrives next week ? Will I get the WOW factor that Im hoping for ?

air intake installed already.

well the butt dyno might not show much improvement, but if you dyno it, im sure that a noticable gain in HP can be found. A TB might help, though it is controversial on how much hp it gives (0-3 hp is what most people say). The TB will give better throttle responce though.

did you replace the header/flex/catalytic? if not, you probably won't notice much at all. without getting your head worked or cams/cam gears you probably only feel the increase little by little once you start getting more mods.

I really dont want to do all those things especially right now , its a 2003 model so I still have 4 years on the powertrain warranty and dont want to void it by doing all that to the engine.
I was really hoping that the air intake , TB and exhaust would do the trick. I will know for sure next week when I install the TB.

Question: should I port the manifold that the TB bolts on to to match the diameter of the TB , if I do will I have to remove it also and how much work is that ? and will I be able to do it on my own ?

ya not too much to gaim with the tb. it is mainly just a different feel in the throttle response. a slight tap on the pedal will now jerk the throttle cable and thus it gives the feeling of faster acceleration. it feels a whole lot more powerful, but there wont be that much of a gain. and as mentioned above, the more mods you add, the more the mbrp will be felt. the intake and tb are allowing a whole lot more air into the engine. the exhaust is letting the air exit faster. but you have now solved all the problems the air faces getting in, but not all the probs exiting, just one of them. the header will def make a more noticable improvement in hp. cams are also a good bet, and a stage 2 cam paired with some head work, and you are set, very nicely. more gains in those two mods than all the bolt-ons. more money also

Did you make sure to reset the ECU?

excellent point. i recoment waiting untill you get the tb on, because during the instal you must disconect the neg battery term. the instal process should take long enough, and then when you reconect the term, go driving. vary speeds, do some slow driving, some surface streets, some quick acceleration, and iff possible hop on the freeway for a little higher speed. that will reset and remap your fuel curves and set the ecu.

Thanks to all of U for answering my call.
Doing head work is not an option right now ( too much left on the warranty to chance it )
Header , Im kinda iffy on that cause the extra noise and cost ( parts are expensive up here).
And yes I did reset the ECU.

What about the Superchip that out now, with my modest modding
will it be worth while ? And does anyone know the price for the chip ?

as others have said, the more you upgrade your stock exhuast, the more noticable the gains. but dont expect huge gains from the basic bolt ons.

as for the chip, it is supposed to be awesome. it is supposed to be very good, even on a mostly stock car. gray_fury is currently waiting on his SCT chip in the mail and will be installing it on a stock SPI. he will be able to give us a first hand review, once he gets it.

The chip is $299.95 through focussport. and you can find the chip here
