can someone point me to a how to on removing the exhaust? those rubber mounts are a B****. how do you get the stock exhaust out of them? i undid the two bolts at the flexy pipe, but there are two rubber mounts there, two down the middle, and one at the tail pipe. i want to just hack um off, but i need them for my new magnaflow.

well, first of all you gotta cut the exhaust right before the back crossmember. As for the mounts just spray some silicone spray on em and yank the hangers out. It shouldn't be too difficult if you jack the car up a bit and put it on stands. That way you can get some good leverage on it. Hope that helps and good luck.

ya i tried to cut it with a hack saw, that got me no where but a sore shoulder. tried wd40 on the rubbers also, and no luck. not enough room down there to yank really good. on your back with minimal leverage.

You HAVE to cut the stock exhaust to get it off the car. You'll just have to keep hacksawing it or try to find someone with a dremel and cutting discs or a sawsall. Cut it near the back axel so you can 'feed' the end section over the axel and out the back.

As for the hangers, just twist them 90 degrees to remove them from the bottom of the car. Put some muscle into them later when the stock exhaust is completely out from under the car, way easier then trying to get them off under the car. Trust me....

I installed my own catback exhaust so I know exactly what I am talking about.....

if you see my name in a technical thread, and i am not making a fool out of myself, it is going to be about the SPI... lol. that should have thrown the red flags up for you.

and we are working on the fence thing. actually its a river, a river of freedom.... flowing to seperate us from the oppressors to the north... (and of course, none of that makes sense unless you play way to much GTA VC)

anyways...
time for me to get off work.
have fun tonight.

see ya in the tomorrow.

Actually I know what you mean, I got VC loaded on my computer right now..... bastard! LOL, always joking, you must know that by now.

Maybe Tom can get me one of those 'house (thread) arrest' ankle (or wrist) bracelets so I can't post in certain threads....lol

I kinda like it. Usually we run out the ZETEC riff-raff, but I think for levity we'll keep you around.
