Is this a Zetec one that is able to fit over the stock SPI throttle body?

First thing, there is no way in hell your getting 10-15 HP from ANY intake, it's more like 4-5 on yoru setup, if your lucky since the BOMZ is basically a POS. So you drove your car to crappy tire without the MAF hooked up? Ummmm ok, second mistake, first was buying the BOMZ.

From my experience with the BOMZ, you do get a performance upgrade and feel but because the quality of the product is so bad, it's not like the kind of performance you will get with a real intake (AEM, VOLANT, etc). Also, realize your going to have to check it regularily, alot of people have had problems with a BOMZ staying together properly. In fact, the only BOMZ I have seen that actually worked properly was modded out big time to keep the thing working properly. Also, a good idea is to replace that BOMZ filter. It's basically like toilet paper on the end of a stick. Putting a K&N on the end will also increase the HP very slightly but your putting a better filter on in the meantime also.

Next time, save up for a real intake. Sorry for the harsh words but the BOMZ is the worst intake you can buy for the Focus. I wouldn't put one of those on my lawn mower.

I dont see how the bomz piping is any different from the expensive AEM intake piping. The only thing is the mounting brackets suck which is easily taken care of by using over sized zip ties. Throw a K & N filter on the end of the Bomz and you've got the same thing as the AEM intake, and don't give me some BS story on how its a different metal and thats why the AEM is better, they are the same Diameter, and the bends are identical, the material has nothing to do with the performance.

Run a search on this board and you'll know exactly what I mean. Ask any 'veteran' on here or someone experienced with modding the focus, or any other car for the matter. BOMZ is nothing but some cheap knockoff of a real product that a real company spend $$$ on R&Ding the product. People need to stop supporting crap like the BOMZ and start supporting the real companies out there. Besides the fact I would be embarrassed as hell to have a BOMZ on my car. Everyone with any experience in modding a focus knows it a POS intake, cheapest in quality and costs on the market.

The AEM for example is different, not going to get into it cause I would be 'apparently' BSing. BTW, material does make a difference..... it might be a slight one but sorry, your wrong on that.

I just think spending $150 - $200 on an intake that will at max get me 5hp is not worth it, Besides this is a SPI forum and yes I have an SPI as well as dundadda and modding an SPI is expensive because there are few parts out there for the SPI and they really wont make that much off a difference so that is why I chose to put on the Bomz intake. Show me some real numbers comparison and then I'd belive you but I have yet to see a real dyno chart or any numbers to make my swing the other way.

You do got a real point with the SPI not having very many 'performance' choices, I will definitely agree with you on that. As for spending the extra cash, to me cash is no option vs quality. I would rather pay extra to have a quality piece but that's just me (and alot of others on this board). Either way, I am willing to pay cash if you can find someone (a veteran on here) that has a BOMZ on their car, SPI, Zetec, any focus. That should say something.

Also, it's not just about the numbers, they will honestly be pretty close to the same for any aftermarket intake, a CAI more than a short ram. It's about quality, it's about paying for a intake that was designed and researched, not stolen and cheaply made to sell on ebay. That's my point about the BOMZ. It's very poor quality but if it falls apart, you could just buy another one and still be ahead (if you want to call it that) in the $$$ category. Either way, you won't see a serious modded with a BOMZ on their car, I can guarentee you that time and time again.

Granted I probably wont find any one with a Zetec that is seriosly into modidng the focus have a Bomz intake, on the other hand there is a huge following of SPIers on FJ that do have the Bomz and like myself are verry happy with it.
