Question race header?

I'm new here but i have read up on this site for awhile now, everybody seems to be quit knowledgable about engine mods.

I have a question about racing headers and the difference between the 4-1 and the 4-2-1 headers and about how much louder is the exhaust? Eventually I'd like to purchase race headers, i'm wondering how loud they are.

P.S i still have a stock exhust, and what exhuast system would any of you recomend(spelling, its 12:30a.m)

Well! from reading many post I have found out that racing headers on performance exhaust can be loud. But if you want great performance from a header and exhuast but don't want a really loud ride then you should think about buying the Focus Sport Stealth Exhaust System from www.focussport.com! I don't know what the difference is between 4-1 and 4-2-1 headers. Im also fairly new and im still learning, sorry if I wasn't much help.

I have heard about the Focus Sport Stealth exhaust system, does the stealth exaust work like a muffler w/silencer b/c i know that with a silencer you loss hp, or is it setup in that its still free flowing but cancels the noise. Thanks

FS has the best ratings for price/value and fitment. Customer service in my book is second to none. Yes, I'm Randys bioch, go ahead and say it. I have done work with Randy on two occasions testing chips and I flat out refuse to go anywhere else as long as FS has it.

I currently run an 4-2-1 Escort Gt header modified to work wit the SPI exhaust. Cost-$50

First thing you need to look for is to see if it's CARB legal. If it is, better get it. As strict as the emissions are in Cali, I doubt you'll have much to pick from.

Blueoval: See Question for waterboy thread. I'm not trying to be a prick or anything, it's just easier than retyping all of that again.

waterboy i don't blame you for not retyping all that, there was a lot of information in the thread If i got the chip before i did any engine mods, would i have to have the chip retuned for the performance parts?
