hey man! I see the parts gathering is moving along nicely with the exception of this piston snag. Funny that youre going Wiseco because I think I'm buying the Wiseco forged pistons for a build I'm doing.

Anyway, Nice parts stash. Got a little mini pick-n-pull going there.

Just a thought, but do you think you'll be lightening up any of the valvetrain at all? You can raise your redline by doing that. I read somewhere on my home forum that for every gram you losein the valve train you get somethin' like 100 extra RPM. Something like that. More RPM means more power of course and with a turbo application, you can rev it quicker and higher to combat turbo lag.

Stiffer valve springs would help. I also read that titanium is good but not for DDs since they wear out sooner.

Just some food for thought for you.

thanks...lol...the wiseco issue just a minor setback but with this motor thats nothing to get worried about...this build itself is just a hard buildup parts wise... not a big market for the motor...
lol... i still got an entire junker to pull apart and store...i'l be selling focus parts like crazy once the builds done...lol

for the valve train i have cam/spring setup... bout all you can do with this motor...the valve's themselves are next to impossible to get... one comp in canada would of made a custom set for me w/ a min order of 50....lol... would never get 10-12 people to order a set at the same time...lol...thanks for the food tho...

Update 6.2.2010:

Was heading home from an aggravating day at work and the ol' lady called and said I had a package on the porch when she got home...and lo and behold... its my pistons!... bringing them over to mechanic tomorrow so he can check them out..hopefully these are right...if so engine build can finally start.. hoping pistons dont go onto round 3...

Piston at TDC...

Anyone notice a problem???
Called up wiseco...agian...told them bout the problems... this time im sending them a factory piston along with both sets they made wrong and hopefully maybe this time they can get them right... if not...screw it... i'll get my money back and prolly call J.E. and see if they can make a (correct) set..
