Exclamation Timing Belt Dampener Bolt
Hi all, Trying to change the timing belt on my 2002 SE SOHC.

First of all is this an interference engine?

Second, how does one loosen the bolt on dampener? I have tried with a breaker bar and a chain wrench and it will not 'break'. I have everything else taken a part. If I can get the bolt to loosen I will be able to change the belt and put it back together.

What direction should I being trying to turn the bolt (Left Loosey, perhaps?)

I have a haynes manual and have followed it step-by-step.

HEEEEEEEEELP! [?|]

Thanks

Jeff

Have you removed the belt first?
From the Ford Repair CD...
Remove the timing belt.
Use an 8 mm Allen wrench and turn counter clockwise 1/4 turn.
Insert a 3 mm (1/8 inch) drill bit to lock the timing belt tensioner in place.
Remove the timing belt.
Remove the bolt.
Remove the tensioner.

You remove the timing belt twice ? [8D]

Just teasing, I know you probably meant timing belt cover.....
