Question will a zetec throttle work on an spi

Hey guys! I found a zetech throttle body on ebay for 20.00. real good condition. Was wondering if their are any mods for installing it. It really beats paying 279.00 for an fc throttle body for the spi. I heard you can also go with the 65mm throttle body form a mustang 4.6 l and the maf. Don't know which way to go. What do you guys think?

No, the ZETEC won't work.
The Mustang TB will work when used with a phenolic spacer. I'm running the 65mm 4.6 TB right now. It IS NOT a direct bolt on. Keep your stock MAF, too.

cool. I appricate the response. Where can I pick up a phenolic spacer and does it need to be a specific throttle body or just any 4.6l throttle body will work? Buy the way will I need a chip to recognize the TB or will it work ok with out it.

The phenolic spacer was custom made but a guy on FJ. I'll check with him and see if he has any left. No, your ECU without a chip will do fine.

Sounds good. Just let me know when You can. I'm looking for power where ever I can get it. Tring to setup a custom t3 turbo for it to. But the turbo I have has a weird exhaust outlet. but thats another story. Keep me posted water boy. Thanks.

Honestly, unless you're going for big power a TB will only help throttle response. It's been so long now I can't remember why the ZETEC won't work. Keep in mind I've had mine since it was new in '00.
