Tales get taller as they go down the line....

A US spec 1.6 manifold with an IHI turbo.
T-Bird intercooler mounted to utilize the Cervini hood
42# injectors
HKS BOV
Manual boost controller
custom piping

Already done that will help turbo project:
Port and ploish
UDP's
cam

The SPI will hold 10 psi without much work. The fuel rail, pump, and computer will hold that too. A MAF relocation is required, and a chip is a must. I intend on running 7-8 intercooled PSI as this is my daily driver.

I have to get the T-Bird done first, as I will be down a car for a few days. It'll be fun driving the Bird around town where the riceboys roam....It'll be pushing 20psi. They'll never know what hit them.

I'm doing the work myself.

Injectors: $200
IHI: Free, I took it off my T-Bird when I did the T3 swap
Intercooler: Again a T-Bird donor
Piping: $200
HKS: Bought off a friend with the piping
Cam: Escortfocus.com $500
Bare casting head: $200
Port and polish: Free, because I did it myself
Downpipe: T-Bird donor when I installed the 3"dp
Manifold:$100
TB: Free as I did the testing for the company. It's a Mustang GT TB with a phenolic spacer
Port and polish of the manifolds: DIY job:free
ZETEC wiring harness: $35 on Ebay
Adj. cam gear and UDP's: $225
Chip:$300, but I'm testing one for FS, so it will be less (NICE!!)
Tuning will be about $750-1000

It's only money, right?

man, i wish i had a t-bird for donor parts... lol

actually less money then i thought it would be, but a lot of that is cause of your donor parts.

I want to have both cars done before the Fun Ford Weekend in July. I don't see why that can't happen.

You can get a sheotload of T-Bird turbo parts on Evilbay. Search under Ford turbo, 2.3 turbo, or Escort RS (www.ebay.co.uk) If you get the Escort RS manifold, it is a bolt-on and is somewhat cheap. I HAD one for less then $40, but sold it when I wasn't sure if I wanted to go turbo or not. Shipping will be a bit, and you should check with the seller to make sure they'll ship internationally. Some will, others won't

I'm going with a wing and a prayer until it pops. There are some Lentech kits out there that look promising. The MAD performance torque converter looks good, as do their performance upgrades. For now I have a second tranny cooler located behind the upper grille, and am running B&M Trick Shift. I know there are torque limitations, I just hope I don't blow the tranny the first time out. There's also the possibility of going to a manual.
