Question o2 cheater harness

Hello, I'm new to this site and looking for answers. I was told u guys could help out. I own a 2000 focus spi sedan and just added a focus-central shorty header and down pipe which is sweet by the way. My check engine light came on so I turned to you guys for some help. I read on my issue and purchased the O2 cheater harness from new edge performance. the ran really well even with the check engine light on. After adding the harness the check engine light started to flash and under the hood it really smell like gas. The car is also starting to choke and wants to shut off if I don't step on the gas. Has anybody experienced this problem and Or know what to do. Thanks!

I have no idea. I have an O2 cheater and haven't experienced anything like that. Are your injectors leaking? Or maybe the fuel rail? I have popped my ZETEC injectors off a time or two.

No, I never removed any of the injectors or the fuel rail. I checked everything today again and its really the strangest thing. But when I take it off it does the same thing for a while then goes back to normal. I guess I really don't need it that bad do I. I plan on getting a haltech e6x in a month or 2 for engine management then plan on adding a custom turbo to it. I emailed the haltech guys and they said I could eliminate that sensor with the haltech and control the turbo.
