I know they sell adapters, but I dont see why it couldnt fit. I want to switch to cone too, let me know how it goes.

It looks like you can. This person here did it. I would pm them direct and ask how they did it. Good luck.

Faded Intake Mod [another faded design]

I hav heard it is possible, just wont see that big if a gain in performance as a CAI or Short Ram would. I did more researched and found that you can make a cheapo Volant intake system. All it requires it removing the resognator, add some heatshield tubing, and add a cone filter. And viola cheapo volant.

Heres what I mean. Heres the installation guide of the volant intake system.
http://www.myfordfocus.com/how-to/volant-svt.htm
All it is is a new filter box with a cone and some extra piping for the tubing.

Here is the mod to take out the resonator and replace with a heat piping tube.
http://www.myfordfocus.com/how-to/resonator.htm
http://www.myfordfocus.com/how-to/ice-man-clone.htm

Combine these two [well actually three] mods together and you have a homemade Cool-Flo/Iceman/Volant intake system. Just as a disclaimer I do not know of how much performance you will see out of this. But its an alternative for cheap people like me. Hehe

When I get a chance [this weekend] I plan to complete this idea and show pictures for all of you.

HOLD IT! Guys, you need at least 3x the diameter of the MAF of straight tubing in order to get a correct reading. The reason for the length of tubing is to let the turbulence of the filter, elbow, whatever to ease up. I know it sounds silly, especially when the MAF is bolted to the stock airbox, but it is true.

Trust me young Jedi......
