Got a New Head Unit/ iPod Interface for Christmas!

I'm pretty excited. Today for Christmas my parents got me the Alpine CDA-9853 headunit,

and the Alpine KCA-420i - iPod adapter
.
It goes in Tuesday to get installed, and I will post some finished pics when its done.

Merry Christmas,
Jarred

I wanted to install it myself, but my parents already paid for the installation, and the store still has the headunit, so I guess I'll have them do it.

Merry Christmas

Here's some pics of the unit installed. They ran the cord between the bezel and dash and isnt quite long enough, so tomorrow I'm going to drill a hole in the pocket underneath the headunit and run the wire through there and its a good place to store the iPod. Also, my parents said they bought the 9853, but actually they could'nt remember, and they actually bought the top of the line CDA-9855. It sounds awesome and the screen is really nice. The iPod controls take awhile to get used to, but its an awesome feature. Enjoy!

Heres the pics with the iPod video:

no, not right now it doesn't, but you can get an adapter for them to work. I think the adapter is around $40.00.

How do you like the GlideTouch thing? I get the impression it's like a "touchpad" from a laptop.

Umm.... Its similar to a laptop pad, it takes a little getting used too, but not that hard once you figure it out. Once you find the fuction you want, you just press on the strip, and it selects it.
