You can change the thermostat but before you do that try some additives like Water Wetter (Bottle of Pink stuff) to get the engine temp down. If that doesn't work then I would check the therm stat. Let's see what everyone else thinks.........

when you say 20 feet are you being serious or are you letting the car sit there and idle before driving it? even at idle, if your egine does come up to "normal operating temperature" then it will obviously take it a while to cool off. what does the temp gauge come up to?

When you change the thurmostat to a 180 from a 192/195 you MUST do a tune to turn the fans on sooner or the temp of the engine will go right up to where it did with the 192/195 Thurmo.

It isnt uncommon for the engine that is heated up to take Hrs to be cool again

yep really common, metal doesn't cool down super fast, winter time has helped my hands alot, cools down now way, way faster than in summer time. Especially breaks and exhaust components.
