Do I need this change?

Hello,

Looking through my record today, I had the following change at:

Fuel filter at 70247km
Air filter at 45935km
coolant at 53228km
transmission replace at 40000km (Guess I can assume they put in new tranny fuel at 40000km)

My 2000 zetec focus is currently at 83000km (Yes, I am from Canada), do I need to change any of the above items??

Thx in advance!

Flush your TRANNY SYSTEM again and just check you brakes. Just over look the vehicle again.

You should check your air filter every 20-30,000 km's, sometimes it'll be filthy, sometimes it'll be clean. Just depends where you live & drive. There cheap too, cheapest: $12 at canadian tire for a standard fram paper filter.

coolant: thats an easy one to do...they say coolant generally deteriorates after 2 years and starts reacting with parts in your cooling system...just a good thing to do i say. its easy and only takes a few minutes...and i've heard that you shouldn't buy premixed coolant...but oh well.. also do not use well water! as sometimes it is hard and leaves alot of deposits...bad for you system eh!

tranny fluid: yes. change it or get it changed ( easier option with this one )

fuel filter should be just fine

I don't think you need to change any of that crap. Waste of time and money.

So what, if any, interval/mileage do you recommend for auto transmission fluid, fuel filter, air filter, and coolant replacement?

Man, these service are costing me big buck! Coolant service is $99cad, and tranny service cost $129cad... and to make thing waste... I had schedule a F/R struct replacement, costing me $550cad(which i think is a good deal, using monroe lifetime strut)...

but over all, I am out by about 800cad this month, damn it~~

Dude, you a my hero man!!!! seriously, I took your word and when to Ford dealer to scan my VIN.... and there we have it, the spring was bad and I get a new set of front spring(the spring is the actual recall)!! And since they are taking my suspension apart.... I ask if I could get my front strut replace without paying for labour and they agree!!

So today, I got both new spring/strut for my car! and only costing me the part of the two strut!!! so only $240cad!!! man, I owed you one!

Ford told me I didn't really new strut.... but i wanted to get it replace anyway...

but is this any good, having new spring/strut for the front and old stuff in the rear? I am safe???

and Ford told me I dont need a wheel alighnment, what do you think? should I get one anyways???

Depends, if you like to run a car till its warranty is out, then discard it for a new one. You don't need it at all. If you want to run a car say, 10, 12 years...or even 17 total years like my last one...Then you'd want to do it, because in the long run....things add up.

Lets see a tranny last 17 years and 400,000 km's and still be good, without changing the fluid, ever. It'll break down eventually...and then the whole tranny will need an overhaul, new seals etc.. Now if you do the maintenance...it'll last you.

If cars are cheap for you, don't worry about it.
