On my 02 SVT I had to change it twice before changing the engine mounts to focus sports. The engine had too much play on the engine and it kept busting the rear sensor on the track. Never happened again. Never had one go out as a result of the sensor failing, but shortly after the engine mounts I switched to an ORP with a 02 Cheater on the rear sensor;) Never had to replace the front one.
Original Owner of an 02 SVT Focus Sonic Blue
Totaled out as of August 18 with only 57k miles.

I've had to replace the rear one once ... and that's because I bent my first set of headers.

This last set of O2 sensors for me have lasted a year now.

I replaced 2 in the front. The first replacement was a Bosch around 65k. It wasn't long before I threw a PO141 code. I replaced it with OEM and I haven't had a problem since then at 120k. I'll probably need a new one soon according to my Virginia math.

I figured out how to stop the rear one from going out. The metal that is near the wires needs to be cut away and then silicone the wires this will help with grounding out the wires. The metal cuts them.

Had a CEL when I bought my SVTF. I replaced the front O2 sensor and then it popped another CEL for the rear O2 sensor. Replaced it and have not had a problem since, and that was a year ago. I only use Ford and/or Motorcraft parts for parts like O2 sensors.

Obviously a major design problem with no margin for error in hitting the sensors. EFF the dealer, NGK part number A3B8B1, 22060 at half the price. Get mine at NAPA.

Exclamation O2 sensor replacement

Since it came on again I ordered a new one. (OEM from FORDPARTS, great guy by the way)

When the rear o2 went out the last time I noticed the wiring was worn, I think it was laying against the transaxel.
I went through this drill and replaced my two sensors and immediately got the CEL. The codes indicated the O2 sensors were bad. I remembered that there is a fuse that covers the O2 sensor heaters. It was blown out. I changed it and reset the error codes and have not had a problem since. The local Ford dealer told me later that bumping the header into parking lot limiters (those funky blocks at the end of parking spaces, curbs, etc) forces the header backward and that damages the rear O2 sensor, shorting out the heater which blows out the fuse - #18, I believe in the box under the hood. I bought a box of the fuses for trouble shooting. I recommend checking the fuse before buying new O2 sensors unless you know the sensor is bad. Good Luck...
2004 SVTF, 5 door, Born 12/03/2003 purchased 1/2004, CD Silver with red seat inserts (1 of 66); Moon Roof, Audiophile, HIDs.
