Question How many 02 sensors have you replaced?

Got the PO141 code again. I just put both sensors in 7 months ago and now the rear one is out again.

I gleened through a number of threads here and on FJ. I saw a number of them in the "repair threads" and was curious as to how many others are going through more than one set.

Had one replaced under warranty 6 months ago and thru codes indicating I needed to replace again. If I didn't like my car car so much, I tell ya. Guess I'll be replacing another shortly.

The rear one generally does not go bad. The front is exposed to high temps, the rear isn't. It's just there to confirm the Cat is working properly. If anything, the heater circuit goes bad in it.

That sounds strange, I would not expect it to be bad. Try resetting and see if it re-appears.

I've reset the CEL several times over.
My protocal is to reset, it will come on after one start cycle.
Then scan for OBDII code. I checked the wiring and the fit and reset again.
Since it came on again I ordered a new one. (OEM from FORDPARTS, great guy by the way)

When the rear o2 went out the last time I noticed the wiring was worn, I think it was laying against the transaxel.

I had to change my rear one once to and it does suck ass.

When I got it out, it was smashed to shit. I took it back to the dealer who just changed my motor out and they paid me for it.

first sensor

I just had my sensor replaced, it was my first warrantee repair . They told me that it must have cracked from driving over railroad tracks. Has anyone else been told that driving over bumps in the road will crack the sensor? How much does a sensor cost? My warrantee expires in a few thousands miles.

None, but I need to replace it. Idiot light's been on a few times since spring, and that's what the code read at Auto Zone where they checked it. Gas mileage is starting to suck hard, so I need to do it.

It will be warranty work (my first time to take it in), and I could use advice (PM me?) on what to do? How to do? Show up? Call first? Expect special treatment as SVT owner? Beat special treatment out of them with a hammer? And most of all are they honoring our red carpet treatment since they pulled the rug out from SVT? And of course, for this particular issue what BS might be flying at me and how to deflect it.

Thanks guys.

Under warranty should be routine. The only thing that may have changed is the extra SVT perks (loaner car, free wash etc). I'm not sure since I don't take my car to the dealer since I'm out of warranty. I know that it will vary from dealer to dealer. This is a 15 minute job for them, so it should be painless.
