For entry level, no. But you are going to slide and eat those tires in a season.

yes.

figure at least 2 seconds slower per run regardless of driver skill.

aka the difference between 1st-last.

I mean, it'll still get you out there having fun learning the concepts of how to read the track, how to pick a line etc. I did 1 season on all seasons and I've done a race here and there over the seasons in someone elses car on all seasons. its just not as much fun, not nearly as much fun.

and given that you've got a 2nd set of wheels for track use only I'd vote hold off. I'm sure we can find you a set of used summer tires for the same price.

These were in lansing but are gone now I'm sure:

I'd guess he wants about $125 each for these but they are the new latest and greatest and should get you a solid 2 seasons.

already heard back from my prof:

Mr. Yonkers,

First of all, thank you for recognizing my position as your educator--not your attorney--and I am always very pleased to learn that a student can proceed more confidently in their lives understanding what the law says and how to "prove up" claims prior to disputes arising.

As in class, I would give your legal analysis of the situation an A. Based on the facts you gave me about your situation, I agree with every conclusion that you reached. Keep the receipt for the new windshield and bring it with you (along with any evidence you have of the contractual agreements and before- and after- pictures of the windshield) to court to settle your claim. You can ask for the costs of filing, but might not get them awarded because this mess is at least partly your failure to disclose the latent (and apparently material) defect in the Subaru. When you serve the other guy, there is a good chance that he may eventually seek settlement prior to going to court. You might even offer to drop your claim if he simply pays the $130 he agreed to by the second contract so you will not have to miss work for the hearing. Make clear in your settlement letter that you will ask for compensatory damages for missed work as well as other costs of litigation.

Always be creating objectively-verifiable evidence. Always assume that the defendant will deny and lie all day in front of the judge, so bring evidence to prove all aspects of your case.

Good luck.

Could pick up both sets of this guys tires for $200.

the star specs a mil above wear bars should get you 3-5 events and then you'd get another 4-5 out of the a6's
